Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

  • Instructions
  • Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.

  • Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
    In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
