Classic Tomato Sandwich — Simple, Fresh & Delicious

Sometimes the simplest recipes are the ones we remember most. A tomato sandwich is a perfect example: ripe, juicy tomatoes, soft bread, and a creamy spread come together to make a quick meal that requires almost no preparation.

It’s fresh, inexpensive, and perfect for a light lunch, snack, or easy summer meal.

🍅 Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 large ripe tomato, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • A small drizzle of olive oil, optional

🥪 How to Make a Tomato Sandwich

1. Prepare the Bread

Place the two slices of bread on a clean surface.

Spread mayonnaise or butter evenly over one side of each slice.

2. Add the Tomato

Arrange the tomato slices over one slice of bread.

Try to spread them evenly so every bite has plenty of fresh tomato.

3. Season

Sprinkle the tomatoes with a little salt and freshly ground black pepper.

If you like, add a small drizzle of olive oil for extra flavor.

4. Assemble

Place the second slice of bread on top and press the sandwich gently.
